Catholic Columbarium

Catholic Columbarium Malaysia

Roman Catholics were traditionally prohibited by Canon Law to be cremated up until 1963 due to the fact that:

  • The body of a believer is considered to be the temple of the Holy Spirit

  • Catholics have faith in the resurrection of the body hence there has been a preference for burying the body intact

In Malaysia, Catholic cremation is somewhat common and the decision to be buried or cremated is largely a personal choice and how one’s perspectives are on Catholic funerals
